As you can see from the data above, since January 2018, about 24% of Turkish Airlines’ flights arrived 15 minutes late or more. On average, flights by the airline were delayed by 39 minutes. Turkish Airlines actually registered a very good second quarter, with “only” one flight out of five arriving late (remember, the industry average is 25%, or one out of four flights). But their average performance isn’t as good mainly due to a bad third quarter that saw an increase of 9 points in the airline’s delayed flights ratio. By opposition, the As such, Turkish Airlines’ on-time performance can be qualified as slightly above average, with a rating of 5.4 out of 10.

International flights from Turkey also grant rights to passengers in the event of flight cancellation: they can be owed up to 600€. The same applies to flights from outside the EU to Turkey.
But Turkish Airlines are also subject to EC261 for their cancelled flights from Europe to Turkey. When the cancellation occur because of circumstances out of their control, they are not obligated to pay compensation to their passengers. But in cases that do not qualify as “extraordinary circumstances”, you could be owed between 250€ and 600€ from the airline.
The conditions ensuring your right to compensation when Turkish Airlines cancel your flight are slightly more complicated than for flight delays. In short, if the airline is responsible for the cancellation, they haven’t given you at least a 14-day notice, and you reach your final destination late (or don’t reach it at all), then it’s very likely that you are eligible under the EU Regulation.
