If you’ve been flying with Japan Airlines (JAL), it’s possible that your flight was delayed, even though JAL is one of the most punctual airlines in the world. While the airline does its best to stick to the scheduled arrival time, some of its flights do arrive late. When the flight delay was caused by “extraordinary circumstances” such as a strike, Air Traffic Control restrictions, or adverse weather conditions, then the airline cannot be held responsible and no compensation is due to their passengers.
But when the delay was the responsibility of Japan Airlines, then the airline must pay you up to 600€ for your trouble. This includes cases of “technical issues” or “operational difficulties”. The EU Regulation 261/2004, also known as EC261, protects your air passenger rights. And ClaimCompass is here to enforce them for you. Keep in mind that Japan Airlines must respect the EU law, even though they are not a European airline. This means that all flights departing from Europe fall under EC261's jurisdiction and passengers can claim compensation.
With our Flight Delay Compensation Checker, you can fill out your flight details and know if you’re eligible and to what amount, in less than 3 minutes. Give us the authorization to represent you in front of Japan Airlines, sit back, and we’ll get your compensation for you.

The tab below provides specific data regarding the airline's on-time performance. Some of Japan Airlines' flights are also cancelled. The airline isn’t always responsible, of course - in some cases, the decision is out of their control. But when Japan Airlines are responsible, passengers are once again entitled to compensation for their cancelled flight.
In the event of the cancellation of one of their flight, the airline is required to let the passengers know at least 14 days prior to departure. If Japan Airlines failed to do so and were responsible for the cancellation, you may be entitled to compensation under EC261.
And remember: if the airline cancels your flight, they also have to offer you a choice between a rebooking on an alternate flight to your destination as soon as possible (provided that seats are available) or the refund of your plane ticket. That’s independent to your right to compensation.
